As South Korea’s COVID-19 epidemic begins to wind down, with a continued drop in the number of reported cases, the country’s mask producers are starting to shift focus to “antibacterial” masks. As the country’s mask supply has stabilized, textile firms are looking to a future when people will need masks better suited to everyday use, as opposed to single-use masks. Gyeonggi Province will support such firms looking to sell masks both domestically and overseas in the hope of recovering some of the losses they’ve experienced during the pandemic. Already, 23 firms have formed a network to begin collaborating on the production of everyday masks made with antibacterial fabric. (provided by Gyeonggi Province)
